Moulding the Dough

Natural sourdough starter after it mixedWe will go through the details of moulding the sourdough on this page, your sourdough should look like this when it's well mixed. Round it up to a ball shape and let it rest for 1 - 2 hours.  It doesn't have to be perfect because we are going to mould it after it's finished resting.

After resting the dough, it is ready to mould. Punch the dough down to make it flat, let all the bubbles out and then fold it in half, punch it down and then fold it in half again. Start rounding it up to the shape you want. Always roll it to the same direction when you are moulding the dough.
